Stewarding Commission

Many challenges continue to lie ahead of the Stewarding commission as we finish out the year 2007 and begin the new year.  Major emphasis will continue to:

  • Provide oversight for planning and implementing a year-round stewardship program for the support of the ministries of the congregation.
  • Provide leadership to the congregation and members in determining ways to more fully involve them into the life of the church.
  • Explore means to fully promote the Friendship Sunday in May

The first Friendship Sunday was held May 20, 2007 and was considered to be a success.  Friendship Sunday was an opportunity for Grace members to invite someone to church and to worship our Lord and Savior though fellowship, song and praise. We experienced a good response at all services and hope to expand it in the coming years.

The fall Stewardship Campaign theme was entitled “Stories To Tell and Gifts To Share”. We learned how God works in people’s lives,   and that the Holy Spirit encourages us to give of our time, personal skills and talents as well as our finances to support spreading the gospel through the ministries of the church.

The Stewarding Commission will continue to look for new and innovative ways to identify member’s talents, skills, spiritual gifts and assist them in becoming participants in the life of the congregation.

We pray that each of you will prayerfully seek God’ guidance to help you make better use of your talents/skills and spiritual gifts in the ministries at Grace.   This will truly help us to carry out the Stewardship theme of telling our stories and sharing our gifts as we reach out to the members of our congregation and to the surrounding communities at large.  God has truly blessed us here at Grace and we are to look for opportunities to reach out and tell others about the love of God.

Respectfully submitted,

Sammie C. Harris
