The Blanket Workshop is a sewing group providing blankets and layettes for distribution to Lutheran World Relief, the Ecumenical Storehouse, YWCA, and nursing homes. Meetings are on the first, third, and fifth (where applicable) Thursdays of the month from 10 AM to 2 PM. Everyone is welcome to join in, or just stop by to see what is happening. Bring a sack lunch if you are going to stay for the whole session.
Fellowship dinners or activities are offered monthly from October through May.
Ladies’ Friday Night Dinner Group
Ladies from Grace meet at various local restaurants on Friday nights. Please call the church office for more information.
Men’s Fellowship Breakfast
The men’s group meets early on the second Saturday morning of the month. Participants take turns preparing breakfast, and there’s always an entertaining speaker.
Members and friends gather on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10 AM for food and fellowship as we work a jigsaw puzzle (the more complicated, the better!). A potluck lunch is part of the fun, and the event usually ends mid-afternoon. This activity is held off-site; please call the church office for more information.
Writers of Grace
Writers of Grace is a group dedicated to promoting the gifts of the writers in our congregation and providing education and resources. Writers (or would-be writers) of all levels are welcome. The group meets monthly, and they work both on personal writing projects and on assignments to develop their writing skills. They also are doing a project to help members of Grace get better acquainted by profiling two members a month in the church newsletter (Grace’s Faces). There is also a novelists’ subgroup that meets monthly.
Annual summer excursion to a Smokies baseball game.
A gathering of Grace’s senior adults for lunch, fellowship, and a program on a topic of interest.
Occasional movie nights, often intergenerational, are offered at the church (popcorn and all!).
Pet Fest and Pets Are Blessings 5K
Grace hosts an annual Pet Fest and Blessing event for the community on the first Saturday afternoon of October together with an associated Pets Are Blessings 5K run/walk at 8 a.m. at the Oak Ridge marina. All proceeds except from microchipping are divided among the participating rescue groups, who also offer pets for adoption. Microchipping donations above chip cost go to the Heifer Project. This is a fun family-oriented event with live music, food, activities for children, bake and rummage sales, free pet/owner portraits, low-cost microchipping, and a service of blessing followed by prayer for individual blessings of the pets.
An annual spring picnic at Frozen Head State Park offers hiking, wildflower walks, food, fun, and fellowship for members and friends of all ages.
The ladies of Grace and their friends are invited to the Women’s Tea each August.
