Volunteer Opportunities

The Blanket Workshop is a sewing group providing blankets and layettes for distribution to Lutheran World Relief, the Ecumenical Storehouse, YWCA, and nursing homes. Meetings are on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 10 AM to 2 PM. Everyone is welcome to join in, or just stop by to see what is happening. Bring a sack lunch if you are going to stay for the whole session.

Grace operates a Food Pantry that provides food for those in need. Distribution hours are 10 am to noon every Friday.

Prayer Shawl Ministry provides a knitted or crocheted prayer shawl to persons hospitalized, entering assisted living or nursing home care, or experiencing other life crises as a tangible sign of the congregation's love and prayers embracing the recipient. Those who wish to work together come to the narthex at 4:30 pm on Thursdays. Yarn and dimensions, optional patterns and general instructions are available at the Prayer Shawl display in the narthex.

The prayer chain is activated either by staff or members who can request prayer for specific persons or needs of family or friends. To volunteer to be part of the prayer chain tree, contact the church office.

A Love Offering is received on the first and third Sundays of the month for local, national and international ministries.

Grace provides food baskets for those in need at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Members provide Christmas gifts to area children through the Angel Tree program.
