Fellowship

Blanket Workshop

The Blanket Workshop is a sewing group providing blankets and layettes for distribution to Lutheran World Relief, the Ecumenical Storehouse, YWCA, and nursing homes. Meetings are on the first, third, and fifth (where applicable) Thursdays of the month from 10 AM to 2 PM. Everyone is welcome to join in, or just stop by to see what is happening. Bring a sack lunch if you are going to stay for the whole session.

Fellowship Events
Fellowship events are held throughout the year, such as the Back-to-School Picnic in August, Thanksgiving dinner in November, Easter Breakfast in April, Frozen Head Spring Picnic and a Women’s Tea in the spring.

Grace Photography Group

Anyone interested in learning about photography, whether a traditional camera or cellphone enthusiast, is invited to attend. Meetings are monthly on the third Saturday, subject to change if necessary. Since photography is developed through repetition, we try to have photo shoots weather permitting. We will discuss our photos with the goal of becoming better photographers. Part of the time will be dedicated to “how to” questions about cameras, terminology, composition, and how to process digital images after you take them. We may also view videos by professionals from time to time. For further information, please call or email the Grace office and leave your email address or phone number. Non-members are welcome and it’s free.

Grace Writers

Grace Writers is a group dedicated to promoting the gifts of area writers, especially those in our congregation and providing education and resources. Writers (or would-be writers) of all levels are welcome. The group meets online monthly on the first Monday, 6-8 p.m. Writers read their work for the first part of the meeting and learn a topic during the second part. Their anthology, In God’s Hand, was published in 2017, and contains work by 50 regional writers. From time-to-time, the group sponsors other events such as readings and contests. Proceeds from the sale of the book are available as scholarships for writers. For more information and to print out the scholarship form, visit their site at: www.writersofgrace.org.

Pet Fest

Grace hosts an annual Pet Fest and Blessing event for the community on the first Saturday afternoon of October. All proceeds except from microchipping are divided among the participating rescue groups, who also offer pets for adoption. Microchipping donations above chip cost go to the Heifer Project. This is a fun family-oriented event with live music, food, activities for children, bake and rummage sales, silent auction, free pet/owner portraits, low-cost microchipping, and a service of blessing followed by prayer for individual blessings of the pets.
